|chicagotar_tar||04:34 pm - rain|
Hey all fellow interns out there...
It is raining on the rez today. I hate rain... being from the Northwest I should be used to it, but nope! Anyway, I am excited that tomorrow is Easter. For Good Friday a bunch of people in the community went on a hike and contemplated the stations of the cross along the way. It was really cool - but I felt sorry for the guy who had to carry that cross for 5 miles! It was like 80* yesterday and not a cloud in site - so I got a little sunburned (yikes).
I also had to take some emergency leave. My grandpa passed away on March, 30th. I tried to fly out to Seattle before he passed but I didn't make it in time. My cousins flew in from NYC and it was a fabulous memorial service and on the day there were NO CLOUDS or rain at all. He would have loved it.
So, I figure for every Easter we have to go through Good Friday - Good Friday's aren't exactly fun but we can learn from them.
I hope it doesn't rain too much tomorrow. The mud on the rez is unbearable - like slick grease and it gets everywhere! Besides I bought some new cute sandles at home and I want to wear them.
Happy Easter everyone!
Hey Taryn - from one grandchild who just lost thier grandparent to another - the best of wishes to you and your family. You and your family are in my prayers.
Blessed Easter (hopefully without any rain)
Today was georgous! It was about 80* and nothing was better than watching the sunrise and singing this morning. It was beautiful.

I've also lost a grandpa and it sucks. I'm sorry to hear you didn't make it home in time, but I know he knew you were on your way and that you loved him dearly. Grandpa's have a way of knowing that kind of stuff... You and your family are in my prayers, too.
On a totally different subject...I miss you. I'm sad I won't be able to be back in classes with you in the fall; but I suppose going back to Chicago for one person isn't the brightest idea. Not to mention, I'll be starting Georgetown in August...so take care of yourself. Let me know where you get called and all of that.
Did you get to wear your sandals?
